Hey mate. Yes the fuel injector are quiet easy to replace but getting to them is the hard part. There is a bunch of pics/ videos on how to remove tve 4.2fsi intake group on the internet as all 4.2 fsi engines are the same accross all audi models. I have removed and replaced mine 5 times and each time is becoming a faster and faster experience.
I had bought a 2007 with a misfire and losing coolant without leaks problem. Turned out to be intermediate cooling o-rings found in the back of the engine, spark plug gap, bad coil, and a broken coil connector. It had 125k miles. Never heard of a head gasket failing. The o-ring is replaced when the head gasket is replaced so it is a less-known
In my 2004 Jetta TDI for example, the voltage jumps directly to 14.6V about 1-2 seconds after the engine starts (at the battery). It stays there at all times while running. In my 2015 Q7, I tried the same test, and the voltage (as read from my Prodigy P3 brake controller) starts at 12.7, and slowly rises to 14v after 20 seconds or so.
